The Past for June 2008

1:28a.m. F*ck You, Mosquito

Not only do you make me feel terrible on the outside, you make me feel awful on the inside, too.

So f*ck you, mosquito.

Death at a Funeral (2007)

  • Very funny.

  • I think that Alan Tudyk wins 1,000 points for well, everything. Especially for being on the roof nekkid.

  • Thanks to this, and of course Nip/Tuck, whenever I see Peter Dinklage, I think, oh no, the marriage just went to sh*t.

  • So silly. Liked it lots.

4:47p.m. Psychic TiVo

After having it only a couple of weeks, my new TiVo HD recorded Reality Bites and Top Gun. Like wow.

My TiVo Gets Me.™

9:43p.m. *Cinema — Waitress

Waitress (2007)

  • So many pies.

  • I really really enjoy Keri Russell, as long as she isn’t Felicity.

  • For that matter I also loved Cheryl Hines.

  • Jeremy Sisto did a great job of being a complete asshole. It is definitely a talent of his.

  • Oh god, spontaneous poetry.

  • Absolutely loved Andy Griffith.

  • Having an affair with your OB/GYN = awkward.

  • I hope this is the last unexpected pregnancy movie I see for a while.

  • Have I mentioned all the pies?

7:29p.m. *Cinema — 27 Dresses

27 Dresses (2008)

  • Katherine Heigl is like a much taller Meg Ryan. Queen of the romantic comedy.

  • James Marsden managed to have a leading role, and wasn’t bad at all.

  • Heigl’s hair color in the movie wasn’t flattering at all, but I think that was the point.

  • Some of the gowns were so bad that they were awesome.

  • Had some original lines and original aspects, which was nice.

  • Even the cheesiness wasn’t too corny at most points.

  • Lots of fun.
